About Area

Manila Bay serves as the country's prime harbor, home to the Port of Manila and the country's former seat at Intramuros. But by the end of World War II, commerce and entertainment shifted to the Malate and Ermita districts of Manila, spurring much of what we now see in the Manila Bay Area. Now Manila Bay apartments for sale or for rent are scattered on the length of Roxas Boulevard serving both artistic locals and settling expatriates.

Located nearby are schools like the De La Salle University, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, and St. Scholastica's College, which constitute a bulk of developments in the area of Taft Avenue near Harrison Plaza. Along the boulevard, you can find the main offices of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of Finance. BSP operates Metropolitan Museum, which also includes the centuries-old Fort San Antonio Abad. The iconic Ramon Magsaysay Center and Diamond Hotel can also be found facing the boulevard, along with the Embassies of the United States and Japan.

While most of the Manila Bay Area situates in the City of Manila, nearby cities such as Pasay and Parañaque are also part of the Manila Bay Area. In fact, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex lies in the middle of Pasay and Manila but the complex is contiguous network of cultural buildings, including the main CCP theater, the Philippine International Convention Center, the Coconut Palace which used to be the Official Residence of the Vice President of the Philippines, and Sofitel. A wharf ferrying passengers between Bataan and Manila is directly opposite the Chancery of the United States Embassy in Manila.

The CCP Complex and the series of buildings in a kilometer corridor, including the Philippine National Bank Complex and the World Trade Center Manila, gives way to the Mall of Asia complex, housing SM Development Corporation's flagship estate development. This SMDC development includes SM Mall of Asia, SM Corporate Offices, SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Arena, and Sea Residences. Most of the still available Manila Bay apartments for sale or for rent are situated here, due to the large tracts of reclaimed land still available for further development.

Federal Land and Double Dragon also developed parts of the area with the Double Dragon corporate headquarters relocated here. Both also develop Manila Bay apartments for sale or for rent, as their developments are accessible to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, the terminus of MRT-3, and a few minutes drive to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Casino resort and hotel developments like Okada Manila, City of Dreams, Solaire, and Sun City also helped spur more developments in the area. The consular office of the Department of Foreign Affairs is also located here.
