About Area

Manila, the Pearl of the Orient seas, has long been the seat of government, commerce, development, and media. As such, all your necessities, both business and personal, can readily be found in this metropolis. To accommodate the growing city, the National Capital Region (NCR) was established to aggregate exisiting cities that have already served as a spillover of development from the historic core of Manila.

Today, Metropolitan Manila or Metro Manila, as the NCR is commonly called, comprises 16 cities and one municipality. Among these is the historic City of Manila, the national capital, Quezon City, the former capital and the largest by population and land area, the financial centers of Makati, hosting the Makati Central Business District, Pasig, hosting the Ortigas Center, and Taguig, hosting Bonifacio Global City.

Others include Caloocan, divided to north and south areas, Las Piñas, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, San Juan, Taguig, Valenzuela, and the lone municipality of Pateros.
