Coffices and Study Spots in Rockwell Center, Makati

) Katrina Gadong |

Coffee plus office equals coffice — freelancers and remote workers alike know this by heart. This is where they are usually found, oftentimes deep in thought, clicking, and typing away at their laptops without a care about their surroundings. Coffice is a term used to describe work-friendly cafes or coffee shops where people go to in order to work. And students may also find these places ideal for studying.

The ever-evolving nature of the workplace as well as the workforce saw the accelerating rise of the coffice phenomenon, starting around 2013, and establishments in the Philippines are following suit. The country's financial and business district, Makati City, in particular, is home to several coffices, having at least one at any given corner. Fast and free WiFi, check. Good coffee, check. While there are other criterias, these two are the most essential to the coffice experience.

Throw in steady availability of sockets, generous amounts of good light, pleasing ambient music, and the comfiest of seats while you're at it. Among Makati's urban delights, Rockwell is gaining most attention so allow us to narrow down our favorites located at Rockwell Center.

With relative seclusion and peacefulness leaving us speechless, along with so much work yet to be done, in and out of the conventional company set-up, there seems to be no stopping the coffice lifestyle; it's here to stay.*
