Hotel 101: DoubleDragon to make it a global brand
The Philippines is yet to have a homegrown hotel brand across Asia, but that just might change in no time.
DoubleDragon Properties Corp., a Philippine homegrown company owned by Mang Inasal founder Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Jollibee Foods Corp. founder Tony Tan Caktiong., is determined to expand the Hotel101 outside the country.
Last December, DoubleDragon’s board of directors approved the creation of international wholly-owned selling arm subsidiaries in Singapore, Hong Kong, Middle East, Japan, London, Italy, and the US.
They are now a step closer to their goal as they just recently disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange that their subsidiary, Hotel of Asia, received its certificate of incorporation for the registration in Singapore of its international wholly-owned selling arm, Hotel101 Worldwide Private Ltd.
Sia says their goal is to make Hotel101 a recognized Filipino brand abroad. This will significantly contribute to DoubleDragon’s income, and at the same time provide the market with an innovative, safe, and secure investment platform.
“Hotel101 units are also an ideal real estate investment for our hard-working OFWs who would like to reinvest in the Philippines but do not have the time to actively manage their real estate investments back home. Hotel101 will offer them a steady stream of recurring income backed by condominium unit titles that allow them to participate both in the robust long-term prospects of the real estate industry as well as the rapid growth in tourism in the Philippines,” Sia said.
Hotel 101 will also endeavor in showing the world the famous Filipino hospitality, Sia says, “As Filipinos, we are well known for our warm hospitality and service excellence, Hotel 101 will not only provide a sound investment, but also a statement of Filipino hospitality in places we will be, which we can all be proud of.”
